摘要:
传统的隐喻研究局限在修辞学领域, 认为隐喻仅仅是一种语言现象。随着隐喻研究的深入, 隐喻已经不仅仅简单地被看 作一种修辞手段, 更重要的是作为一种认知手段和思维方式, 可以帮助人类理解和认识周围世界, 并反映了人脑反映世界的方式。 隐喻翻译的关键在于如何处理喻体, 如何体现喻意。奈达的“功能对等”翻译理论被广泛应用在圣经翻译中, 也可以有效地指导 隐喻的翻译。“功能对等”包含3 方面内容, 分别为“对等”、“自然”和“最贴切”。文章在“功能对等”这3 方面内容的指导下 总结出处理喻体的3 种方法, 即保留
Abstract:
Metapho r used to be confined to the rheto rical area by the conventional metaphor study , in w hich metaphor w as only regarded as a linguist ic phenomenon. As the research on metapho r g oes deeper and w ider, metapho r w as not only co nsidered as a rheto rical device, but rather a w ay that helps human being s to learn and understand the surro unding w orld, in addit io n, it can show how human br ain react s to the w orld. T he key to how to t ranslate metaphor s lies in how to deal w ith vehicle and how to reveal gr ound. Altho ug h Nida' s t ranslat ion theory “f unctional equivalence ”used to be broadly used in Bible t ranslat io n, author of this art icle thinks this theor y can be a useful guide to the t ranslation of metapho r. “Funct ional equivalence”includes three aspect s, respect ively being “equivalent”, “n atural”and “t he clo sest”. Under the g uidance of these three aspects, this passag es r eveals three basic way s to deal w ith vehicle, namely detaining it , chang ing it and omit t ing it . T hese t ranslat ion methods w ill t ry to allow readers in the targ et language to react to the t ranslat io n in ex act ly the same w ay as the reader s in the source language react to the original passag e.
