摘要:
西方大学理念的研究者们从不同角度揭示了自12 世纪大学出现至今800 多年间, 大学理念的演变进程。西方大学从中世 纪师生们的学术性行会发展成为“后工业社会”的“轴心机构”。大学的性质由单纯的“教学场所”变为教学与科研并重的“研 究中心”, 再到集教学、科研与服务于一体的“社会服务站”。大学的功能由单一变为多重。高等教育由知识本位的价值观到追求 个人、知识、社会的和谐发展。
Abstract:
F rom differen t angles researchers have revealed it s evo lu t ion of 800 years since the f irst un iversity appeared in the 12th cen tu ry. A un iversity started as a gu ild ofmasters and studen t s inM edieval Eu rope, w h ich resemb les an “ax ial in st itu te”in the po st - indu st rial society. The ro le of a un iversity changes w ith t imes, so a un iversity has go t several names since it w as bo rn: “a site fo r teach ing”, “a cen ter of research”and“a service stat ion”. A cco rdingly, the funct ion of a un iversity has expanded f rom teach ing to scien t if ic research and talen t s t rain ing. In fact a modern un iversity has undertaken th ree funct ion s that include t ran sm it t ing know ledge, scien t if ic exp lo rat ion and social service. The view on the value of h igher educat ion has also changed f rom “the co re of know ledge ”to the goal of seek ing the un if icat ion of the individual in terest, social developmen t and know ledge exp lo rat ion.
