摘要:
以系统功能语法理论体系为理论基础, 系统对比英汉语中名词化隐喻现象后得出结论: 名词化隐喻在英汉两种语言中都 普遍存在, 区别在于实现方式不同。英语具有构词形态, 常常可以通过各种方式添加词缀隐喻化为名词; 汉语是通过改变句法功 能来实现, 词本身形式没有发生任何变化, 这与英语属屈折语而汉语属孤立语相一致。另外, 名词化隐喻在英汉语中的实现方式 虽然不同, 但所体现的隐喻性思维是一致的, 并且都具有使得语篇简洁、衔接、客观的功能。
Abstract:
Based o n the theor y of the Systemic Funct ional Gr ammar, the paper compares nominalizat io n in Chinese and Eng lish and co ncludes that nominalizat io n ex ist s per vasively both in Chinese and in Eng lish but differs in the w ay of realizat io n. In Eng lish, nominalizat ion is realized thr oug h adding aff ixes w hile in Chinese thr ough the chang e of the syntact ic function, which is consistent w ith the fact that Eng lish belo ng s to inflect ing language w hile Chinese belongs to iso lating languag e. In addit ion, nominalizat ion in both lang uag es ref lect s the same metaphorical thinking and bo th provides text s with the functions of being co ncise, coher ent and object ive.
