摘要:
标示语的使用与国家、区域形象密切相关, 是一个国家的形象工程。在江苏省常州市标示语翻译情况调查中, 发现常州 市城区标示语翻译中存在着大多数道路标示牌无英译, 机械对译现象严重, 规则与现实不谐调等问题。注重指导宣传类和禁令类 标示语的翻译技巧, 规范标示语翻译, 有利于提升常州市国际形象。
Abstract:
The use of commo n signs a nd shor t notices is clo sely connected wi th the imag es of the count ries o r the districts, w hich i s the vani ty pro ject of the count ry. The inv estig atio ns co nducted sug gest that there exi st some problems in the t ranslatio n of commo n sig ns and sho rt notices in Chang zho u, such a s road sig ns w ithout Eng li sh t ra nsla tio ns, w o rd - fo r - wo rd t ranslatio n and the di sharmo ny betw een rules a nd the reality. At tentio n should be paid to translating techniques fo r commo n sig ns of g uidance and pro paga nda, fo rbidden sig ns, a nd t ranslation unificatio n of public sig ns so as to raise the interna tio nal image of Chang zhou Ci ty.
