摘要:
词汇作为语言的重要组成部分, 在英语教学中具有举足轻重的地位。孤立的词汇教授和学习模式限制了学习者正确地理 解和得体地使用语言, 不利于交际能力的培养。而没有语境, 就没有语言, 语境是理解和解释词义的必要条件。应将词汇教学与 语境紧密地结合起来, 运用语境确定和推测词义, 消除歧义。词汇和语境是相互依存的, 词汇教学方法与学习者自主学习意识、 学习技巧以及反复操练的有机结合才能有效地提高词汇教学效果。
Abstract:
Vocabu lary, the essence of a language, p lays a very impo rtan t ro le in English teach ing. How ever, there ex ist s a b ig p rob lem in the w ay of teach ing and learn ing English vocabu lary, characterized by being iso lated f rom con tex t, and the resu lt of w h ich is rest rain ing learners’co rrect ly understanding and app rop riately u sing language and h indering their acqu iring commun icat ive competence. No con tex t, no language. A nd con tex t is the p rem ise to understand and in terp reter the mean ing of a wo rd. Therefo re it is essen t ial to inco rpo rate con tex t in the teach ing of English vocabu lary to guess and determ ine the wo rd mean ing and elim inate amb igu ity in commun icat ion asw ell. It is concluded that vocabu lary and con tex t are clo sely in terrelated and the effect ive w ay of teach ing and mastering vocabu lary is the realizat ion of learners’self- educat ion aw areness cu lt ivat ion, learn ing st rategy adop t ion and f requen t p ract ice.
