摘要:
由于文化、哲学、宗教、信仰等方面的差异, 中英悼亡诗对爱妻之亡故的态度和表现方式不尽相同, 具有不同的审美取向。 中方视其为永诀, 格调大多悲戚; 英方视其为新生, 彼世乐土再相聚, 故悲中有慰。中方侧重伦理, 爱妻之亡故彰显其善和大义, 悼亡意象多贴近生活; 英方侧重审美, 主要凸显爱妻之貌美才美, 多是想象性意象。
Abstract:
The at t itudes tow ard death and the means to ex press sorrow in eleg iesof Chinese and English are dif ferent . This leads to dif ferent esthet ics co ncer ning death. In Chinese elegies, death is thought to be eternal parting , and the tone is sorrow ful. T hey emphasize ethics: death makes the dead w ife' s merit s perpetual and the imagery orig inates fr om daily routines. By co nt rast , in Eng lish eleg ies, death is regarded as rebirth and hope in their g rief , focusing on the dead w oman's beauty . And the imag er y is imaginat ive and philo sophical.
