《廊桥遗梦》是美国作家罗伯特·沃勒的一部爱情畅销小说, 然而从生态主义视角重审这部经典作品, 却发现它实则反 映了作家深刻的生态主义思想。沃勒对小说时代背景的铺设体现了他向往传统, 回归自然的生态主张; 乡野背景的述写表达了他 对人文世界与自然世界和谐相融的生态渴望; “最后的牛仔”- 罗伯特·金凯则是作家保护动物、反对战争、回归自然生态思想 的代言人和践行者。
Abstract:
T he love stor y, the Br idges of Madison Co unty is American w riter Ro bert Waller' best seller. By reex amining it through eco - crit icism, this paper has at tempted to explore the w riter 's ecolog ical views. T he story' s backgr ound is set to express the w riter' s ecolog ical assert ion of longing for t radition and returning to nature. It is then devoted to ex plo ring the pastoral backgr ound w hich embodies the w riter' s ecolo gical expectat ion of the harmonio us r elat ion betw een human w o rld and natural w orld, w hile “t he last cowboy ”——Robert Kincaid, as the w riter' s spo kesman and applicator , reflect s his ecolog ical tho ug ht s: protect ing animals, object ing to w ars and returning to nature.
