当今世界，美国何以兴? 其重要原因之一在于它形成了一个相对成熟的市民社会。纵观历史，促使市民社会在美国发
展的原因是多方面的，主要包括悠久的基督教传统、发达的非政府组织、庞大的中产阶级、高度的乡镇自治、完善的市场经济
以及完备的法律基础等。研究美国市民社会的发展，以期对当代中国市民社会的构建提供一些启示。
- Abstract:

The United States is able to maintain long － term prosperity in the world，one of the important reasons
for which is that it has formed a mature civil society． Throughout the history，the reasons for American civil society
development include its long tradition of Christianity，developed non － governmental organization，high degree of
villages and towns autonomy，perfect market economy，complete legal basis and so on． The thorough research on
the development of American civil society can provide enlightenment for the construction of civil society in contemporary
China．
