摘要:
唐廷枢早年在英商怡和洋行做过十年买办, 积累了丰厚的资产和经营近代企业的经验。后创办和经营洋务运动时期两个 规模较大的民用企业—— 轮船招商局和开平矿务局, 取得了显著的成效。历史事实表明: 唐廷枢作为从买办起家的中国第一位具 有近代经营管理才干的企业家, 以创办和经营近代企业的独特方式, 推动了中国社会的近代化进程。
Abstract:
TANG Ting- shu had been a comprador in the Brit ish Jardine Matheson for ten y ears in his ear ly life, and accumulated substant ial assets and ex perience of oper at ing modern business. Later he set up and ran Merchant s Steam Navigat ion Company and Kaiping Mining Bureau, tw o lar ge - scale commercial enterpr ises during the Westernizat ion Mo vement , and made remarkable achievement s. T he historical fact s indicate that TANG Ting- shu, started fr om a comprado r, as China's f irst ent repreneur w ith modern business management skills, promoted the modernizatio n of Chinese society in a unique way of sett ing up and running moder n enter prise.
